TJS Law is a boutique Noosaville law firm led by solicitor Samantha Sheppard. We support individuals, families and business owners with wills and estate planning, estate administration, estate disputes, and related commercial and leasing matters. Our focus is simple: clear communication, practical steps and advice shaped to your situation.

Meet the team

Director

Samantha (Sam) Sheppard

Samantha (Sam) moved from London to Noosa with her husband in 2004. She qualified as a lawyer in England in 1999 and spent the following years working in specialised commercial property matters, largely for corporate clients.

After relocating to Noosa, Sam's work broadened to support both individuals and businesses across commercial, property and estate matters. Over time, she developed a strong interest in business and succession planning, and her practice now focuses mainly on that area of law.

Sam is known for an efficient, personal approach and a genuine belief that "one size doesn't fit all" — every client's circumstances, family dynamics and assets are different, and the legal work should reflect that. Outside of work, she's kept busy at home with three competitive, sport-mad sons.

Practice Manager

Christine Rule

Christine was born in London and began her career in the legal profession young, progressing through roles including office junior, receptionist, secretary and personal assistant. While working in London as PA to the senior partner of a well-respected firm of solicitors, Christine met Samantha, who was a trainee solicitor at the time.

Christine has since built extensive experience across litigation, commercial, employment, matrimonial and estate planning work. After moving to Australia, Christine and Samantha reconnected by chance. Christine initially retired to help care for her grandchildren, before Samantha later asked if she would support the firm.

Five years on, Christine is now the Practice Manager at TJS Law, ensuring the client experience stays organised, responsive and steady. Outside of the office, Christine volunteers with Orange Sky Laundry, and enjoys badminton, table tennis and time with family.

Solicitor

Lea Jones

With more than 20 years of experience in the legal industry, Lea brings a thoughtful, approachable style to her work at TJS Law. She joined the firm in 2025 and is delighted to be working alongside Samantha again, having first worked together over a decade ago.

A practising solicitor, Lea works closely with clients on both estate planning and estate administration, taking the time to understand their individual circumstances and provide clear, considered advice. Known for her calm and supportive approach, Lea helps make complex legal matters feel more manageable, guiding clients through each step with care and confidence.

Outside of work, Lea embraces the busy rhythm of family life and making the most of sunny days on the river fishing.

Conveyancer

Helen Asher

A Brit expat, Helen has spent the last 30-plus years in Australia — Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, and most recently she calls Pomona home. Her career has been varied and fulfilling; she's worked for major publishers in London, Hong Kong and Sydney.

After her two daughters flew the nest, she retrained as an interior designer and set up her own business in Brisbane. In 2022, the Sunshine Coast beckoned; she found a block of land and built an off-grid idyll with the intention of retiring. Retirement wasn't all it was cracked up to be, so she switched lanes again and trained as a Conveyancer with TJS Law.

Helen relishes the challenge of managing a property conveyance from beginning to end, and recognises the importance of keeping clients informed and comfortable through what can be a complicated process. When she's not scrutinising contracts, she volunteers for the local arts community — and pretends she's an artist too.

Samantha and Lea are solicitors of the practice; Christine is our Practice Manager and Helen is our Conveyancer. TJS Law is listed on the Queensland Law Society Register of Solicitors.

TJS Law is a boutique Noosaville firm where clients deal with real people, not a rotating inbox. Samantha provides the legal advice and guidance, and Christine keeps the practice running smoothly so matters progress with clarity and consistency.

We start with an initial conversation to understand what you need and the context around it. If the matter involves other parties, we may need to complete a conflict check before we can act.

We outline the pathway forward in plain English, including what information or documents will help. We'll confirm scope and costs before proceeding so expectations are clear.

We progress the work with steady communication. You'll know what we're doing, what decisions are coming next, and what we need from you.

Where matters involve sensitive family dynamics or disagreement, we stay measured and factual. The aim is to resolve issues professionally and proportionately, without inflaming the situation.
