How we can help
How we can help
TJS Law's work centres on four areas that often connect. For many clients, estate planning decisions affect business structures, property arrangements and family dynamics, so it helps to have advice that considers the full picture.
Wills & Estate Planning
Put clear instructions in place and reduce uncertainty for the people you care about. We assist with wills, testamentary trusts (a trust created under a will), powers of attorney and advance health directives.
- Talking through your circumstances, family and assets
- Preparing your will, including testamentary trusts where they help
- Enduring powers of attorney and advance health directives
- Reviewing and updating your documents after life changes
Estate Administration
Practical support for executors and administrators, including probate and letters of administration (court authority to deal with an estate), transfers, distributions and estate-related steps.
- Working out whether probate or letters of administration are needed
- Preparing and lodging the application with the court
- Collecting assets and attending to debts and liabilities
- Transferring property and distributing to beneficiaries
Estate Disputes
Measured guidance when there is conflict about a will, an entitlement, or administration decisions. We focus on clear process, proportionality and resolution-first pathways where appropriate.
- Understanding your position and your options
- Advice on will validity, provision and entitlements
- Negotiation and resolution-focused approaches
- Guidance on any time limits that may apply
Business & Leasing
Commercial and business legal support connected to asset protection and succession, including leasing and key agreements — with clear documentation and practical advice.
- Commercial leases — new leases, renewals and reviews
- Key business agreements and documentation
- Asset protection aligned with your estate plan
- Business succession planning
Property & commercial
Residential Conveyancing
Buying or selling a home should feel straightforward. Our conveyancing team manages the contract process, key searches, settlement preparation and coordination with agents and lenders, so you can move forward with confidence and fewer surprises.
Commercial Property Sales & Purchases
Practical support for business owners and investors buying or selling commercial property. We assist with contract review and negotiation, due diligence (the key checks before you commit), settlement coordination and the documentation that sits around the transaction.
Leases (Residential & Commercial)
Clear, considered advice before you sign. We prepare and review leases, renewals and variations, helping landlords and tenants understand the key terms, responsibilities and risks so the arrangement works in practice, not just on paper.
Retirement Village Transitions
Guidance for retirees and families moving into retirement villages. We can review village documents and explain the financial arrangements in plain English, helping you make informed decisions and feel comfortable with what you're agreeing to.
Costs
How we charge
We believe in clear, upfront costs. Before we start, we'll talk through what your matter involves and give you an estimate of the likely costs, so you can make an informed decision.
Straightforward work, like a simple will, is often handled on a fixed fee. More complex matters — estate administration, or a dispute — are scoped and estimated based on what's involved. Either way, we confirm the approach and the costs with you before proceeding.
Getting ready
What to bring to your first appointment
- Photo ID for each person
- A note of your assets and liabilities — property, accounts, superannuation and any business interests
- Details of the people you'd like to benefit, and anyone you'd like to appoint
- Any existing will, power of attorney or related documents
- Details of any trusts, companies or self-managed super funds
- For estate administration: the death certificate and the original will, if you have them
This page is general information, not legal advice. We'll always advise on your own circumstances, and confirm the scope and costs with you before starting.
If you'd like a clear next step
Request an appointment and we'll respond to arrange a suitable time. If your matter feels time-sensitive, call the office and we'll guide you to the right next step.
